Vishal Mahajan
I’m a data scientist, transportation analyst, cloud practitioner and geo-data enthusiast with a Ph.D. [in data-efficient methods for mobility analyses] and an M.Sc. [in transportation systems] from the Technical University of Munich, Germany. I am fond of using open source frameworks to develop solutions for practical problems by leveraging data science, optimization, and simulation methods.
My expertise spans the domain of transportation and mobility analytics, working with geospatial datasets and developing ML solutions, such as, time-series forecasting, anomaly detection, clustering, deep learning, transfer learning, and black-box optimization. My focus is on bridging the gap between research advances and delivering practical solutions. Through my research and projects, I've worked on the data science and data engineering aspects such as:
- Collection and analysis of streaming spatial-temporal data
- Data quality enhancement using automated anomaly detection
- Applications of machine learning and deep learning for real-world use cases
- Understanding human mobility during dynamic events
- Clustering and understanding of complex traffic scenarios
- Predicting traffic and driving patterns
- Simulating and calibrating large-scale traffic scenarios
I am experienced in cloud technologies to learn from data efficiently and how to scale the developed solutions. I am also certified by AWS [Cloud Practitioner; Solutions Architect Associate] and Microsoft [Azure Data Scientist Associate].
